LoadTide Freight Helper – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the LoadTide Freight Helper Chrome extension (“LoadTide”, “we”) handles information. It covers only the extension. The loadtide.com news website has its own privacy policy.

1. Summary

  • LoadTide works inside your browser. The data it uses is stored locally in your Chrome profile.
  • We do not sell data, we do not show ads, and we do not use analytics or tracking.
  • If you connect Gmail, LoadTide can only send email that you approve. It cannot read your email.

2. Information the extension uses

  • DAT One pages and session. Page content such as broker MC numbers, cities, miles, rates and equipment, plus your DAT session token and your current load search criteria. These are used to show ratings, fuel estimates and load counts, and to count loads from a delivery city with the same filters as your search. Requests go only to DAT, using your own session.
  • RTS Pro session. Your RTS Pro session token, used to look up the RTS credit rating of broker MC numbers. Requests go only to RTS.
  • Sylectus page content (only if you click “Enable Sylectus”). Broker MC numbers, cities, miles, posted amount, and the broker’s contact email from the order profile page, which is read only when you click “Email”.
  • Your price history (only if you add it). Spreadsheets you connect (Google Sheets links, a company link you paste, or a file you import) are downloaded to show your last price for similar lanes. They are stored locally only.
  • Fuel prices. Public daily diesel price averages by state. No personal data is sent.
  • Email templates and signature. The templates, settings and signature (including any logo image) you create. They are saved in Chrome storage. Chrome may sync your templates across your own signed-in Chrome browsers.
  • Maps. When you open the email window, LoadTide shows a map. Map images are loaded from Esri. To draw the road route, the approximate coordinates of the pickup, delivery and truck cities are sent to the OpenStreetMap routing service (OSRM). No personal information is included. City coordinates are looked up locally from a built-in city list.

3. Gmail and Google user data

If you choose “Connect Gmail”, LoadTide uses Google Sign-In and requests these permissions:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send: to send the email you write or approve in LoadTide to the broker you choose, from your own Gmail account.
  • openid and email: to know which of your Gmail accounts is connected, so the email is sent from the account you selected.

LoadTide does not read, search, modify, delete or store your Gmail messages. The content of an email is sent directly from your browser to Google’s Gmail API when you click Send, and it is not sent to us or to anyone else. The access token from Google is kept in your browser’s temporary storage only, and it is deleted when you disconnect or when the browser closes. The list of connected email addresses and a short record of which loads you emailed (kept for 3 days) are stored locally in your browser.

LoadTide’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not sell it or transfer it to third parties. We do not use it to train AI or machine-learning models. No person reads it.

4. Sharing

We do not share, sell or rent your information. Data leaves your browser only as described above: to DAT, RTS, Sylectus and Google, using your own sessions and your own actions, and to the map and routing services described in section 2 (city coordinates only).

5. Security

All requests use HTTPS. The extension does not run code downloaded from the internet. Session tokens are stored only in your browser.

6. Your choices and deleting data

  • Clear data: click “Clear cache” in the extension popup, or remove the extension. Removing it deletes all locally stored data.
  • Disconnect Gmail: use Edit email templates → Disconnect in the extension, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Sylectus and price sheets are optional and can be turned off at any time.

7. Children

LoadTide is a business tool for freight professionals. It is not intended for children under 16.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Important changes will be announced in the extension’s Chrome Web Store listing.
